ACTEM Conference

I loved having the opportunity to attend the ACTEM conference in Augusta. Most of the sessions I attended were informative and interesting. I learned about some websites appropriate for first graders,  learned about some apps others were using and shared a few of my own, and heard some Apple reps talk about their latest tech toys.

The vendor areas were interactive, varied, and loaded with freebies…teachers love freebies. While strolling through the vendor isles, I happened upon a new invention, The Betty! This is a stand/whiteboard designed to hold your iPad so you can use it as a document camera or a tripod. The Betty was still being manufactured during the conference. After a long chat with the sales reps, they agreed to send Betty (fresh off the assembly line) to my classroom free of charge! Today…Betty arrived. Stay tuned as we figure out how she fits into our classroom instruction.
