I thought a word cloud of my notes from ACTEM would be a good visual representation of the conference. I love ACTEM because I always find the solution to a problem, or discover a new idea that I can use right away, or find another educator that I can add to my PLN. This year was no different!
As my word cloud shows, the other thing that the ACTEM conference is good at is focusing on what’s most important – students. One of my favorite sessions from the conference was iPads in the Elementary Classroom, which was facilitated by a kindergarten teacher. It was inspiring to see how seamlessly she has fully integrated iPads with the littlest of learners. Another session that I really enjoyed was Literacy and iPads; in this session I learned about some apps that can be used for reading and writing… including a rap app that I am eager to try with the kids! Here’s an example (my K students and I are learning Mother Goose nursery rhymes – here’s an example of my rendition getting remixed in the app “AutoRap”:
